Are silver or gold plated sweets safe to eat?
While eating Indian sweets like barfi and all, have you ever noticed gold or silver coated on them and wondered is it edible, keep reading to know is it edible or not?
As you all might know gold is chemically inert. So, it will not be digested by the body and won't interact with other chemicals and compounds in dangerous way. The small amount of gold consumed by you will be eliminated by the body in the same form as it entered.
Silver is quite different than gold, because there are both ionic and non-ionic versions of this element. The non-ionic version of silver is inactive and cannot be absorbed by the body, making it edible.
However, the ionic version of the silver can be digested by the body which can potentially cause toxic reactions. Therefore, it is critical that you know the source of any silver leaf and ensure that it is of the highest possible quality.

I thought it would be better not to delete or revamp these posts, even if they suck. The bitter truth is that old works always suck, but I take that as a positive tool to convey that I am growing. Besides there's no better way to showcase my journey without these old, messy, poorly written posts!
