One factor that's at the core of many personality assessments is whether you are introverted or extroverted.
For those who don't know, extroverts and introverts are 2 types of personality traits in people. While extroverts tend to be outgoing and bold. They gravitate toward roles that put them within the center of attention. They are kind of very social. They love being with people and can't stay alone. Introverts tend to close up and deliberative. they like one-on-one meetings, performing on their own, and long walks on the beach (just kidding).
Most of us think being introverted or extroverted is as simple as falling into one of two boxes: Would you rather stay at home on a night comfy in the bed or go out to the friend's place with a big group of friends? Would you rather be the center of attention or stay as far away from the spotlight as you can? But the truth is you can be none of them!
It's easy for many of us to choose whether we are introverts or extroverts. But some may have a difficulty. There are many people out there who enjoy outings but stay back in a crowd. Or who open up to people easily but feel awkward in doing so. Such people enjoy traits of extroverts and introverts. Such people are not introverts nor extroverts. But they fall into a category called as "ambiverts".
Ambiverts don't have much preference. Like the question I asked above. Would you rather stay at home on a night comfy in the bed or go out to the friend's place with a big group of friends? Introverts will stay home, extroverts will prefer to go to friend's place while for ambiverts, nothing is uncomfortable. They can do both with equal vigour. But, it's a hard time to choose for them.
Many people regard ambiverts as social, but many claim that they are quite. So, basically, they can do both. On a graph of personality, with introverts and extroverts at the end, ambiverts lie in the center. Ambiversion is a blend of introversion and extroversion.
Omniverts are very interesting personality traits. Such people show behaviour of the extreme introversion and extroversion at different points. This often is dependent on situations.
Hard to understand, an omnivert is someone who displays classic traits of both introverts and extroverts, in specific situations. For instance, in the party example, they are often the heart of any party, flitting their way round the room, engaged in conversation, with multiple people for hours and hours, and flourishing the whole time socially. No problem for them. But when the party is over, however, they will need two days of solitude to recharge their social reserves. They will need soft music, warm beverages, long books, and fuzzy socks. They will likely turn their phone off, andd probably won't respond on social media. These are omniverts.
I am an ambivert. What about you? Let me know in the comments below!
Posts before October 2021 have been marked as "Old Posts". Less likely, but they might have out dated or incorrect information, ugly looking bits of code, no labels, etc. Don't get me wrong, many of these posts are top-notch and interesting too.
I thought it would be better not to delete or revamp these posts, even if they suck. The bitter truth is that old works always suck, but I take that as a positive tool to convey that I am growing. Besides there's no better way to showcase my journey without these old, messy, poorly written posts!
