How do pulse oximeters work?
Pulse oximeters are a very useful and handy tools that identify pulse rate as well as oxygen level in our body. And with the pandemic on, it's quite popular these days. But how do they work???
If you observe, the pulse oximeter has a red coloured LED (Light Emitting Diode) and a sensor at two opposite sides of the machine. The LED flashes continuous beam of red light on the finger.
It is then recieved by the sensor on the opposite side. This detector measures changes in light absorption with oxygenated and non oxygenated blood.
Thus it tells us oxygen saturation and pulse rate very accurately.
With mobiles, the things are a bit different. The sensors that come with mobile phones like the Galaxy S7 Edge reflect the red light and senses the oxygen level.
Posts before October 2021 have been marked as "Old Posts". Less likely, but they might have out dated or incorrect information, ugly looking bits of code, no labels, etc. Don't get me wrong, many of these posts are top-notch and interesting too.
I thought it would be better not to delete or revamp these posts, even if they suck. The bitter truth is that old works always suck, but I take that as a positive tool to convey that I am growing. Besides there's no better way to showcase my journey without these old, messy, poorly written posts!
