Pain at any point of the head is called as a headache. We all experience them, but have you ever wondered that why do we get headaches? Let's see...

Is headache paining in the head?

For the matter of fact, headache is not an indication of our brain hurting. Actually, our brain doesn't have any pain receptors to experience pain. Pain originates in the nerves surrounding the brain, sending pain signals to the brain, resulting into headaches.

What are the types of headaches and why do they occur?

Headaches are classified into primary and secondary headaches. Primary headaches are caused due to over activity of muscles, blood vessels and nerves surrounding the head. Migraines and tension headaches are all examples of primary headaches.

Sometimes due to illness or a medical condition in body, our pain sensitive nerves in the head get triggered causing secondary type of headache. Dehydration, hangover, sinus, or even heart disease can trigger secondary headaches.

Many a times relaxation and changing your diet can reduce headaches. But visit your nearby doctor to confirm whether it is fatal or trivial.
