Why shouldn't we sleep with our head facing the north direction?
In Hinduism, it is strongly believed that one should never sleep with his or her head facing the north direction. Hindu customs believe that north is the direction that the soul takes when it leaves the physical body. It is considered an improper direction for the head when sleeping and it is supposed to cause nightmares and sleep disorders. But why really we shouldn't sleep with our head facing the north direction? Is it just a superstition or the custom really has some deep meaning? Let's see...
The Earth's magnetic field at north is positively charged. Similarly, as biomagnetisms say, the human mind is also positively charged. If one sleeps with the head towards the north, the two positively charged magnets will do a widespread destruction in the mind. Certainly, we won’t get restful night sleep and we will be likely to wake up exhausted and tired. It is also Ayurvedically proven to cause stress and disturbance in mind.
This magnetism is also scientifically understood to cause improper circulation and problems in the circulatory system. So it is advised to sleep facing south for a better cardiovascular health.
So our ancestors weren't dumb...

I thought it would be better not to delete or revamp these posts, even if they suck. The bitter truth is that old works always suck, but I take that as a positive tool to convey that I am growing. Besides there's no better way to showcase my journey without these old, messy, poorly written posts!
