Why touch screen works with only our fingers?
Try touching your touchscreen phone with a pen, or by wearing gloves, it will not work. But why does touch screen works with our fingers only?
Earlier touch screen phones were not actually touch screen. They were pressure sensitive. But that's not the case now. Now, we have modern capacitive touch screen phones.
Capacitive touch screens work when there is electrostatic disruption in the digitiser present all below the screen of our phones.
Touching the screen by your finger changes the current passing through the digitiser because our fingers are somewhat electrically conductive.
The reason why the the other things doesn't work because they are not electrically conductive. Glass is also electrically conductive that's why we have it's screen protectors on the phones.
You have also seen that if water is there on your screen then the screen runs automatically because water is also somewhat electrically conductive.
And yes, in the DIY stylus videos you see on YouTube, use only electrically conductive items like batteries and aluminium foil!
Posts before October 2021 have been marked as "Old Posts". Less likely, but they might have out dated or incorrect information, ugly looking bits of code, no labels, etc. Don't get me wrong, many of these posts are top-notch and interesting too.
I thought it would be better not to delete or revamp these posts, even if they suck. The bitter truth is that old works always suck, but I take that as a positive tool to convey that I am growing. Besides there's no better way to showcase my journey without these old, messy, poorly written posts!
