Why is mount Everest considered as the highest mountain?

Mount Everest has a height of 8848 metres and Mauna Kea, a mountain in Hawaii measures 10210 metres from its base to tip. But then why is still mount Everest the highest mountain???
Undoubtedly, Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world but Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world.
When we measure height of mountains, 'highest' and 'tallest' mean different. 'Highest' means the measure from mean sea level to the summit whereas 'tallest' means measurement from top to bottom of the mountain.
So most part of Mauna Kea is invisible to us as it is under water. So Mount Everest is regarded as the highest mountain...
Posts before October 2021 have been marked as "Old Posts". Less likely, but they might have out dated or incorrect information, ugly looking bits of code, no labels, etc. Don't get me wrong, many of these posts are top-notch and interesting too.
I thought it would be better not to delete or revamp these posts, even if they suck. The bitter truth is that old works always suck, but I take that as a positive tool to convey that I am growing. Besides there's no better way to showcase my journey without these old, messy, poorly written posts!
